WOOD FLOOR MAINTENANCE
WOOD FLOOR MAINTENANCE
Wood Floor Maintenance
Wood floor maintenance has two main components: Maximize sweeping and minimize mopping. Wood floor do not like water. Many of the wood floor restoration projects we have completed were due to too much water from regular cleaning processes. We recommend daily dust mopping wood floors and occasionally, using a lightly damp process for cleaning. The process that works the best is the Bona cleaning system available at many building supply stores. This process uses a light mist and a washable microfiber pad to clean the floors. It is not necessary to clean the entire wood floor with a wet system each time. Instead use a spot mopping process which only clean areas that actually need the service.
Another important tip is about area rugs. Area rugs are very functional on wood floors. The caution is about the backing under the rug. Many times the backing is very rough and will cause damage to the wood floor. The alternative is to place a backing under the rug. Just make sure it is made of a soft material and is not too rubberized. Some of the rubberized backing materials tend to sweat and stick to the wood floor. If this ever happens, you will need to call in the experts to properly clean, or sand and reseal the wood.
FLOOR LIKE THIS ONE NEED REGULAR DUSTING AND ONLY OCCASIONAL DAMP CLEANING
