From dull to like new

Most stone floors need three passes. Saltillo, wood and concrete follow their own versions, and we tell you which before we start.

  1. Deep clean

Furniture moved and walls masked, grout lines hand scrubbed, then an extraction rinse set for stone.

  2. Hone and polish

Natural, satin or gloss. Pits and holes filled with travertine epoxy along the way.

  3. Seal

A penetrating sealer on tile and grout, and a care sheet so it lasts.

Will it hurt my floor?

Pick your floor and what you clean it with. The answers come straight from the care sheets we leave after every job.

Keep it off.

It’s an acid. It etches the polish, and an etch has to be re-polished.

Questions we hear

TravertineCan holes and pits in travertine be repaired?

Yes. We fill holes and pits with a travertine epoxy so they stop deteriorating, then hone, polish and seal. Cracked tiles can be filled or replaced.

SaltilloHow often does saltillo need to be resealed?

With light to moderate traffic and good care, a professional scrub and light reseal every two to four years. On that schedule it rarely needs a full strip, which costs two to three times more.

GroutCan dark grout be fixed without regrouting?

Usually. A deep clean removes the embedded dirt, and grout stained by spills or chemicals can be recolored to match, or changed to a new color, then sealed.

CleanersIs vinegar safe on stone floors?

No. Vinegar is an acid and etches travertine and marble. Bathroom cleaners, ammonia, fruit juice and many household cleaners do too. Use a pH-neutral stone cleaner.

GraniteDo you seal granite countertops?

Yes. We are an authorized Tekon applicator. Tekon fills the pores of the granite to create a lasting stain barrier, which standard sealants don’t.
